The Challenge

Our Approach

We assembled a parallel-track strategy within the first week: an independent biomechanical engineer reconstructed the incident from CCTV and equipment specifications, two treating physicians produced long-horizon care plans, and we issued discovery subpoenas for the prior safety audits the employer had quietly shelved. Three line managers were deposed in sequence, and contradictions in their accounts opened the door to a punitive damages argument that shifted the settlement posture overnight.

The Result

Full compensation awarded across medical costs, lost income, vocational retraining and pain and suffering, plus a structured annuity that guarantees lifetime care escalation. As part of the settlement the employer agreed in writing to a third-party safety audit, replacement of the defective equipment line, and mandatory retraining for all press operators.
